Overall Disc Gameplay

Officer Notes

  • Playstyle remains similar to Df - ramp around pets, spam smite to get pet back off cooldown.

  • Just like forever we'll be timer-dependent and depends how much we can plant and smite.

  • Although the base tools are the same (pet, evang, rapture, uppies), Voidweaver and Oracle give two different ramp profiles, I'll explain below.

  • Oracle has some interesting ideas behind it but the numbers are bad. I hope they buff it because it offers a totally different ramp profile to Voidweaver.

  • Outside of healing we bring PI, and Voidweaver damage is looking very strong. Almost at tank damage in raid testing.

Ramp Patterns

I'll try to give ideas of when and how often Disc can ramp. When Mythic testing happens we can see how the ramp patterns map onto the boss fights. I'll try to add some numbers from beta testing too.

Voidweaver

  • Evang 20-man ramp every 1.5mins, with pet.

  • Shadowfiend roughly every 50s-1min, can go wide.

  • Mind blast every ~20s

  • Uppies can be thrown in there, usually 4 mins

Oracle

  • Evang ramps are huge, every 1.5min. Evang + Premonition cycling with pet.

  • Not much in between those 1.5min ramps, maybe one pet ramps and uppies.

Playstyle Notes

Voidweaver

Voidweaver summons a rift on Mind Blast which does damage, increases atonement healing and explodes after 8s.

It has a lot of synergy with disc:

  1. It turns smite into a shadow spell, so it's buffed by the Disc tree and does more atonement healing (probably makes TE useless as there are no Holy activators):

  1. It makes Shadowfiend a 2-min cd (instead of 3). It's not documented on the tooltip. This is insane because it means more Shadowfiend ramps. It doesn't do the same thing for Mindbender, I think this talent kills Mindbender. You can have at worst 1-min Shadowfiends with this (maybe even 45s)

  2. When the rift explodes it does good damage. But after 8s, most of the atonements have fallen off. Probably not even worth playing around the explosion and just letting it do damage/heal the last couple of atonements. Maybe with a bit more haste it's better. There's a talent that extends the duration of the rift which is pretty useless because your atonements are dropping anyways.

  1. It might make uppies a pure juicer talent. The rift gets bigger and does more damage every time you damage with Penance, and uppies fires a shit load of penances.

Oracle

Oracle is clunky but there is potential. It pushes Disc into have a huge ramp every 1.5mins with Evang and Premonition.

The goal is to play around Insight, where you would:

Mind Blast -> Insight -> Penance -> Penance -> Penance for a fat, front-loaded ramp.

You can smite in between the Penances and not consume Insight, so you can hit the Penance when damage comes in.

You combine this with Piety to do more healing.

  • First ramp: Insight + Piety + Evang + Pet

Atonements -> Rad -> Rad -> Evang -> Pet -> Mind Blast -> Insight -> Piety -> Penance/Smite x3

Then you need to wait 1.5 min for Premonition of Clairvoyance

  • Second ramp: Clairvoyance + Evang + Pet

Atonements -> Rad -> Rad -> Evang -> Pet -> Mind Blast -> Clairvoyance -> Penance x3

.. then wait 1.5 min and do the first ramp again.

In between the Evang ramps you'll get a pet use, mini ramps, uppies, etc.

The problem with Oracle is that:

  1. The numbers just aren't very good. 10% healing and the overhealing thing every 1.5min isn't amazing.

  2. There are too many dead talents. This is supposed to be good but because you Radiance before you use Prem, you never consume the cast. It's on a choice node with a Power Word: Life node, so you take it but it's completely dead except on mini ramps.. ???

  3. The double Prem ramp is clunky. Prem is off the GCD (good) but has an internal 1s GCD (bad). You need to wait one GCD when double-pressing it.

  4. It can be punishing if you fuck up Prem cycling. But then that's just bad play.
